The widow of a cop executed in Brooklyn in 2014 gave birth to Angelina, a healthy baby girl, last week at Weill Cornell Hospital.

Sanny Liu, the widow of late Detective WenJian Liu, gave birth to her late husband’s baby nearly three years after his death thanks to in-vitro fertilization.

According to Liu, the two always planned to have children, but their plans were tragically disrupted on December 20, 2014, when a gunman opened fire on Liu and his partner, Detective Rafael Ramos, outside the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The gunman, later identified as Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, a career-criminal, killed both officers then himself.

On the night her husband died, Liu requested that her husband’s sperm be preserved so that the two may still have a child. That night she dreamt her late husband handed her a baby girl.

“I told my friend, ‘it’s going to be a baby girl,’” she said. “My friend said you haven’t even checked the sonograms, but I was right.”

Liu said she can’t wait to tell their daughter what a hero her father was and introduce her to the Police Department she lovingly refers to as her “big blue family.”
