Over 350 individuals gathered to celebrate the growth of the neighborhood and amusement district, especially in the five years since the organization’s inception.
“We are thrilled to bring together the Coney Island community annually to celebrate history and the growth of Coney Island,” said alliance executive director Alexandra Silversmith.
The party featured a Saturday Night Fever theme to pay homage to the 40th anniversary of the film, which was set in South Brooklyn.
“This year was particularly special as we celebrated the 5th anniversary of our organization,” said Silversmith. “The icing on the cake is that we raised more than we ever have in past years, which will help provide free events all year as well as ensuring we can continue to provide quality of life improvements.”
